More customers, smoother experience – solve the most common questions

The most common question is:
After I activated an integration, I get a permission error. What should I do?
The second most common question is:
Which integration should I use?
We’re happy to guide you on how to remove these unnecessary obstacles to your success. Let’s start with the permissions question.
Step one: As an integrator, only select the permissions required for the integration’s functions. Choosing extra permissions might seem strategically smart, but it often results in unnecessary license requirements for the customer. The next important step is to clearly inform customers about which Fortnox licenses they need to use the integration. If the license requirements are unclear, you risk both customer churn and negative impact on your brand. The solution is clarity that helps the customer understand. If you have published the integration, or are planning to do so, we recommend adding this information on the integration’s page in Fortnox. For example, you could write: “This integration requires access to your Fortnox account and therefore requires licenses for: Bokföring, Fakturering, Företagsinformation and Kund.”
Now let’s move on to the burning question: “Which integration should I use?”
If you have a published integration, or are planning to publish one, start by making sure the integration has tags. Tags are used to describe the integration’s functions and help new customers find it. All published integrations should use tags. You can find the tag settings in the Developer Portal. Select your integration to edit it, then go to the Integration tab. Once tags are selected, they will appear on the integration’s Fortnox page and the integration will show up in search results when customers search for those tags.
Another factor that influences customers’ decision-making is the description of your integration. When describing the integration’s benefits, make sure to answer the following questions:
What problem does the integration solve for the customer?
Who benefits most from using the integration? The more specific you can be, the better. Mention the industry, segment, and/or company size that gains the most.
Consider using a flowchart to show the flow between the integration and Fortnox. For example, illustrate with arrows what type of data is transferred and in which direction. Combine this with screenshots or video clips that show the interface and explain the features.
Once these elements are in place, your integration will be more visible – and you’ll reach your target customer group.
Good luck!
